Our Projects
100 Black Authored Books for Children
The right books can sculpt the mind and character of a human being. That’s why FEW is providing 100 hand picked premium Black Authored Children’s Books, one projector and some extra special gifts, to 10 english-speaking schools, libraries and(or) reading rooms around the world. In addition, FEW will provide a series of online programming opportunities that include Read-Alouds, Author Talks, PenPals Across the World, Make & Take Workshops, plus optional lesson plans for teaching with texts and more.
Our purpose? – to empower, uplift and heal African children everywhere, and to financially bless and promote African authors for their outstanding contributions. By giving our children a connection with African stories and images of people that look like them, authored by Africans who have first hand experiences similar to theirs, we foster unity, restore legacy, and empower the future. It’s awesome to think about the impact that can have on lives.
*WE DID IT! It took us a whole year to cultivate this collection, but we did it and it is absolutely brilliant. Cultivating this collection also accomplishes our first year goal for this project. All we need is a little help from you. There are 3 ways you can help:
Uplifting African Stories for Children
We Need Your Support
1. VOLUNTEER: help us reach out to authors in our collection and get their commitment to this project. We have open phone and email calling/contacting sessions on Wednesdays of every week. Call 202.276.0000 for more information.
2. SHARE: help us let the world know about this project and about FEW Foundation, so they can get involved. We need all the help we can get!
3. DONATE: Sponsor a book! By sponsoring a book you’ll spend between $150 and $350 for the purchase of twelve copies of a book you choose from our list. Depending on the price of the book and which books are still available, you can spend a reasonable amount of money to support a priceless project. Or, purchase a projector for $150 (we need 12). You can also purchase any of the extras, like the I Am coloring book for girls or boys, or the activity book packets. You can also just donate to transportation costs. Any and all donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.

The FEW Foundation & Friends of the Congo are Partnering for
A Just Peace & Freedom in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Breaking the Hold on Congo with Prayer and Unity
Many of us are aware that there is conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Most people think it’s war and it is, but it isn’t conventional war as we know it. It is a deadly conflict against the Congolese people mounted with chaos created from external forces, including the United States, enacting violence in order to obtain and maintain control of the country’s natural resources, specifically Coltan, a metallic ore used to create cell phones, computers, electric cars, and other technology. (https://www.google.com/search?q=what+exactly+is+coltan&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari). Coltan is found in its greatest quantities in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of the CONGO, and big businesses need it. They are willing to do anything to get it, including destroying the lives of millions and millions of people and using other African’s to do their dirty work.
Over millenniums internal divisions have been chipping away at African Indigenous Unity. And though we are brilliant people, we keep repeatedly falling for these same tactics of division and divisiveness, that are continuously destroying our lives. So what’s our solution to this age old problem? And what can we do to gain a just peace and freedom for the DRC, all of Africa, and everywhere throughout the world?
The FEW Foundation and Friends of the Congo are partnering to help. We believe there are two powerful tools each of us has that can be accessed and utilized at any time to build a better world – the first is PRAYER and the second is planting and cultivating seeds of UNITY. We believe that Prayer moves mountains, and that weaving a tight bond of brotherhood and sisterhood creates an impenetrable garment of humanity that no weapon formed against any one of us, anywhere, can destroy.
So what next? Friends of the Congo is organizing a major prayer event that you can be part of, and The FEW Foundation is bringing up the rear with a charge and call to UNITY through added activities.
Here’s what you can do.
* First, mark your calendars for Sunday, October 19, 2025 and expect something special 🙏🙏🙏 like you’ve never ever seen or heard before. We’ll keep you posted on the details.
* Next, if you’re a Spiritual or Religious leader, in an organization, establishment, your community, or your home, you can reach out to your people and organize a 10 to 15 minute video, of pointed prayers for the DRC, including words, song, dance, music, sermon, chanting, meditation, and any good thing you know. Send them to info@thefewfoundation.org or campaign@friendsofthecongo.org
*Third, have folks you know who pray, and are not shy about it, record a 3 to 5 minute video of themselves praying FOR DRC (Congo), or you can do the videoing for them. Then send those videos to us before October 12th, so we have time to edit and prepare them to be uploaded on Friends of the Congo’s shared social media. Email them directly to campaign@friendsofthecongo.org and thefewfoundation.org@gmail.com.
If you are all in for a better world with no spiritual or religious persuasion or affiliation and just simply want to get involved, you can do any or all of the following:
- Create a 3-5 minute video of your own that shows solidarity and love for the DRC. It can include prayer if you’d like it to. Then send it to us right away.
- Invite Us to Speak at your next program, service, meetup or event. Contact Freedome Lee-El at (202)276-0000 or
- Join the FEW Foundation’s Unity Zoom that takes place on the third Saturday of every month at 12 noon EST. The flyer is above. Zoom Meeting ID:839 3442 4563 Passcode: Unified
- Visit the Friends of the Congo website www.friendsofthecongo.org, and social media pages. Then donate, like, join and share to stay informed. And buy some paraphernalia to wear when we all come together because it shows solidarity when we’re in the same space and it helps to raise money for the Congolese people.
• Visit the FEW Foundation website at www.thefewfoundation.org and text or call (202) 276-0000 to get connected with our team and get involved with us. Share us with your friends and family too. Again, you can make a monetary donation and buy product on our website too. It really does show solidarity and helps us raise money for all our projects, programs and all the work we do.
- Learn the Boots on the Ground community dance and be prepared to dance with us on line or in person at our upcoming events.
- Women learn the Belly Dance Rites of Passage Prayer Dance for the Congo so we can dance together for the DRC.
- DONATE FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF!
So now that we’ve shared all this information with you, it’s time to get BOOTS ON THE GROUND busy working to achieve our goals of a just peace and freedom for Congo and restoring unity throughout the world. Thank you.
this nonprofit needs you!
